Internship at the University of Duisburg-Essen
- Issued by
- University of Duisburg-Essen, Faculty of Engineering, Electronic Components and Circuits (EBS)
- Kind
- Internship reference (Praktikumszeugnis)
- Date
- Internship 3 to 28 August 2026, letter dated 7 September 2026
The internship was voluntary and lasted four weeks, in the EBS field of study, where I worked on a control and image-analysis system for droplet-based microfluidic systems. My part was this:
- integrating different hardware and software components into one system, and building the graphical user interface to run and evaluate it
- running experiments and helping to commission, validate and optimise the system
- developing methods for automatic image analysis, in particular for detecting and measuring microdroplets
- documenting the software, the integration and the experiments, and evaluating the results
The work became FluidicStudio. I only show the reference page, because the cover letter has an address and bank details, so I left it out. The line with my date and place of birth is covered by a bar that's part of the image itself.
